Dream Weapons present: EASTERN EMBROIDERIES C120

This one is two hours long and a little bloated. I do reccomend you click on the cover/link to the C90 / 2022 reworking underneath and listen to that one instead. It is an upgrade in every thinkable way - according to me:

Ever since my childhood I've had an affinity for a certain timbre that could mainly be found in the music from behind the Iron Curtain and in the regions of the former Sovietunion. Politics and troublesome history aside, wether it was armenian tetrachords, persian shashmaqam-modes from the central asian regions, klezmer, balkan or gypsy tunes– somehow it always reminded me of fairy tales.

I compiled 120 minutes in two parts or 2 x c60. If these parts were character types or beings Out of the Village would be the extrovert and Into the Forest the introvert. But music and emotions are more complex than that so you'll find melancholy and joy simultaneously in both the village and the forest.

Dream Weapons present: MORNING DEW C90

Although the title itself is nicked from Tony Hatch and Jackie Trents cover version of Bonnie Dobson's apocalyptic anti-nuclear protest song, I figured it was time for some pleasantly organic and good-natured music. In short I've compiled a collection of jazzed & psyched up «world folk». The challenge (or fun really) is mixing andalusian classical piano, baroque pop, medieval dancetunes, argentinian folklore and everything in between - while trying to maintain a natural flow. There's plenty of melancholy and dark moods but practically every second out of these ninety minutes are full of comforting warmth and beauty. Atleast according to me they are.

Dream Weapons present: ANTROPOCEN C90

The Anthropocene (same thing... in english) is a proposed epoch that begins when human activities started to have a significant global impact on Earth's geology and ecosystems. The name is a prop combination of anthropo- meaning "human" and -cene meaning «new».

Translating our present era into music is apparently the sound of cinematographic moods and static grooves - featuring new/cold & no wave, soulful drum machines, avantgarde oldies, vintage electronics and electroacoustic delights (and most certainly not the gentle psych-folk my cover art suggests)... at its catchiest! Join inn to rejoice in the wondrous and mourn the terrible ways of mankind at the end of Antropocen.

"From the time I was in high school I've always cherished making cassette mixes for friends. It was a way to turn friends on to music I'm into, and create something special and meaningful for them. When Dream Weapons asked if I'd be interested in putting a mix together for them, it was a no brainer,  With this mix I present to the listener a C90 look into my record collection. Most of the tracks I  digitized myself. Some of the names may be familiar (i.e. James T. Pursey otherwise known as Jimmy Pursey from Sham69 and Brian Brain aka Martin Atkins from PiL) but seen in a different light from the work they are known for. Hopefully there's a track or two you've never heard before in which  turns you on to a new artist and causes you to seek out their output in a way that supports their art. Our first guest mix is here and its by none other than the great Moahaha. He has previously curated some of my personal all-time favorite mix tapes throughout the years, and its a great honor to have him as our first guest here at DW. I’ll leave the introduction of this absolute gem of a mix to the man himself:
