Fused with either middle-eastern, latin, asian or african music + perhaps some rock, funk, folk, psychedelics and whatnot: jazz becomes jazz fusion, I guess. Loathed by purists (screw them anyway) and still slowly recovering from its self-inflicted late seventies reputation as show-offy, lifeless and smooth - but needless to say you won’t find any of that sort on this magic rug ride of swirling flutes, trippy percussion, hypnotic vibes and the like.

Btw: I got my title from Hopi mythology. Did you know that Spider Grandmother caused a bamboo to grow into the sky and that it eventually emerged into the Fourth World? True story.
