I always thought it was from a poem but I can’t seem to locate it anywhere, so maybe it’s just a local saying. It goes something like this:
Outside it's spring, but inside of me it's fall
-and that's Norwegians in a nutshell... or maybe it’s just me. Yes, I know it’s summer by now, but I think you catch my drift. And if you do, you’ll also have an idea of what to expect from this mix of mine. Finally, the sun is shining! Let’s stay indoors and listen to darkly tinted, melancholic music all day long -Moahaha

Hello. Thanks again, Moahaha. Been revisiting your Present Tense mix often. And, going back and listening to some i probably downloaded years ago and forgot.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Big Sun
Thank you Big Sun. I'm happy to hear that older mixes still get listens and downloads (and it warms my heart to see the MIX ARCHIVE having plenty of visitors/views). I mean I still like all of these mixes myself, and have always hoped that they have lasting qualities to others.
DeleteKeep on doing this please. I've been listening to these mixes for years <3 At the moment I have 72 hours shuffling on my head-set at work in the abbatoir
ReplyDeleteHey I won't stop before I run out of music I'd like to share. I'm curious to how listening to my mixes on shuffle. As they all follow a theme of sorts, and I aim to create a sort of unified experience or trip - for every mix. A sprawling listening mess undoubtly, but hopefully it's still entertaining:)
DeleteI am reluctant to have certain mixes as the x-mas ones in the shuffle ... just because I wan't to save them for a moment. Still I get some recurring titles both wich grows on me and others I grow tired of. Since we have lots of cultures represented at work I can both enjoy sharing and get an idea of othervice foreign texts - overall an amazing lot of incredible inspiration ♡Thanx
DeleteThank you. Inspiring comment for me as well:) - Yes, do save x-mas for Christmas. At least for me, they don't really have the same effect during the rest of the year:)
DeleteThanks for another great mix, Moahaha - I appreciate the fact that you always open me up to something new and interesting. As far as your mystery quote is concerned, it made me think of a Love Unlimited song, 'It May Be Winter Outside (But In My Heart It's Spring)', which kind of flips your phrase round the other way. Maybe that's it...or not!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome whoever you are! I too try to open myself up to something new and interesting, so perhaps I'm bringing you along for the ride:). I think that's the reason why I seemingly never stop compiling these. I don't run empty.
DeleteAh that's interesting about the song. Variations has probably occurred independently in many places. It describes what's probably a "universal human feeling". But the specific mystery quote is local. First time I heard it was when I was in my late teens. An old Norwegian artist was sort of parodying the archtypically melacholic and fragile Norwegian artist:). I found it used several places online as well, but never located it's origins.
just now noticing the Bow. Makes me happy...
ReplyDeleteYes, such a sweet little tune:)
Deletebig sun commenting there....
ReplyDeleteFall is melancholy but it's even more beautiful. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAgreed:) - it's my favorite season.
